Measurement & Evaluation Strategy
DAS Foundation
The Mission
To accelerate the growth of Hispanic-owned businesses by providing equitable access to business education, culturally relevant resources, and social capital—all in Spanish.
The Situation
DAS Foundation’s new Grow+ program is an 8-month Spanish-first business transformation program helping Hispanic-owned small businesses from low- to moderate-income communities overcome stagnation. Through education, mentorship, and implementation support, the program strengthens financial stability, increases income, and builds lasting economic resilience.
For Grow+ to achieve its full potential, DAS recognized the importance of designing a measurement approach that could track results, surface insights, and inform future program decisions. Because the program is designed to drive change across multiple dimensions and time horizons, its outcomes are broad and layered. Grow+ supports both short-term outcomes like applying new knowledge across curriculum areas, implementing a business growth plan, and improving day-to-day results, as well as long-term impacts that include business resilience, financial stability, and community impact.
Demonstrating outcomes was critical not only for refining the program, but also for showcasing the impacts of the training to their stakeholders and funders.
Solutions Delivered
First, Impactful Insights facilitated staff workshops to co-create a theory of change and logic model for Grow+, building shared alignment around program goals, outcomes, and measures of success.
Next, Impactful Insights delivered a comprehensive measurement strategy, which included guiding principles, design considerations, and data management guidelines, balancing rigor with practicality, and focused on clear processes and tools for data collection, analysis, and use.
Finally, we developed a detailed implementation guide that mapped each data collection tool to its purpose, owner, timing, captured data, and related data indicators. We also facilitated an Implementation Planning & Enablement Workshop to equip DAS staff with the skills and confidence to carry out the measurement framework.
Together, these solutions positioned DAS to:
Analyze key results and metrics to understand impacts and identify areas of strength and opportunity in order to refine the program model, improve delivery, and inform future replication.
Meet grant reporting requirements, while balancing standard reporting metrics with insights that capture the transformative aspects of training, education, and support.
Tell compelling, evidence-backed stories that resonate with the broader community and support thought leadership, engagement, and fundraising efforts.
Working with Impactful Insights Data Partners has been transformational for DAS Foundation. Beth guided us through developing a clear theory of change and a data strategy plan that will set us up for success for years to come. Most nonprofits approach measurement and evaluation as an afterthought, but thanks to Beth’s expertise, we were able to build evaluation into our work from the very beginning. This ensures we can gather the right data, track meaningful outcomes, and make informed decisions. What impressed us most is how this process didn’t just create a plan on paper—it informed real program changes that maximize impact for the communities we serve. We now have clarity, confidence, and the tools to truly measure and grow our mission. We are deeply grateful for Beth’s partnership and highly recommend Impactful Insights Data Partners to any organization ready to align strategy, data, and impact.

As the new Executive Director for DAS Foundation, I came into the role while our flagship program was at the implementation stage of the project. Having Beth support the team during that final push was important because her systems and tools were useful for me to prepare and deliver the project. Thank you Beth!
